Joining thinc! in my first semester was undoubtedly my best decision in Mannheim. Startups are becoming increasingly more relevant to tackle the challenges of the 21st century, such as climate change or the rapid development in machine learning and AI-related technology, and thinc! served as the best “gate opener” into this ecosystem I could have hoped for. I made friends for life, increased my network, and gained lots of experience as a team member, as chairman, and while building the thincubator. The combination of factors such as exposure to well-curated parts of the German startup ecosystem, professionalism, and a strong social network make thinc! a unique student platform for Entrepreneurship throughout Europe.
thinc! helped me to build a personal network in both the European startup and VC ecosystem. As a member, board member, and advisor I picked up immensely valuable skills in becoming an operator as well as learning how to become a leader. Additionally, I’ve stayed part of the thinc! family ever since and many of my best friendships originate from joining the initiative back then.
Since my first semester at the University of Mannheim, I have benefited a lot from thinc! both as a member and as part of the team. During the many, very well-organized workshops, I was able to learn incredibly relevant things that helped me with my own startup. But also the Foundertalks held by very successful founders have been enormously helpful and inspired me a lot.
